I promise that this new year will be better.

Everything starts with the first step.

A child goes from crawling to walking by taking the first step.

The first step is always the one we dread the most.

Whether its starting a project or a family. Starting that career or relationship.

Taking the first action is the scariest and funny enough the most important.
A wise man once said;you dont have to see the whole staircase,just take the first step.

When driving in the dark for instance,and you put on your headlights. You do not see the whole road,you only see a few meters in front of you.
Do you pack your car and switch off the ignition? No! You keep driving.because you know that all thats important is the next few meters,then the next and the next.

The next few steps may be bumpy and rough but as long as you took the first step.you will get all the help you need to seethat journey through.

Remember,afterall you have taken so much time preparing yourself and equipping yourself.

You are armed with all you need and any other help will come to you along the way.

We all dream,wish and sometimes plan but how many of us get to take action.

We get stuck in all the thinking about how to take the first step.

Make the bold choice today to take the first step towards achieving all those goals you have set for the new year.

As you do this,enjoy the journey.
Learn from downs,enjoy the ups and soon enough you will have a very beautiful ending.

As i write this post,i am tired to my bones.

The week has been very busy with loads of physical work around the house involved.

Cleaning,decluttering and slight rearrangement around the house.

Now i appreciate the work that Interior decorators do.

i must say i am pretty good at this stuff.lol

As the year comes to an end,i cannot help but wonder how we gathered up so much stuff around the house.

Most of which we have absolutely no need for.

I also realised that as we( my lil bro helped out) started to declutter,the space kind of brought a feeling of more clarity.

Clutter can truly be depressing.

When you have all this stuff around that you have not used in years.

Sometimes its better to take a day off(weekends are better) to clean and clear.

I promise you one thing.

When you are done,you will feel a sense of satisfaction and who doesnt love some extra space.

I know some of these things around the house could be of sentimental value so we might find it hard to let go of them.

You can pass them on to someone who needs them instead of keeping them in a box. So that when you see them use them,you can relieve the momories you so truly cherish.

My mum did not want to let go of a table that was older than all of her kids! Though it still looked good and antique,but it was kinda out of place in the house. End of story,she turned it into a better looking table.

Take some time out this last few weeks and take out the clutter.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

I KEEP MY PROMISES

Lets say this is a page filled with God's promises.

I was listening to some music by Israel Houghton this morning before praying and it got me thinking.

Do you know that most times we forget that we are not alone in this world?

We forget that someone has got our back no matter what?

When we make mistakes and do things that contradict our values we beat ourselves up and have guilty feelings for so long we can’t even make rational decisions anymore?

We get into a dark patch in life and we feel like it’s over for us?

We forget that we have a God who has promised that he would never leave or forsake us.

The only one who can boldly say that nothing living, dead, visible, invisible, mortal, immortal can separate us from his love?

It’s in our nature as humans to forget good things so easily that’s why he reminds to awaken our spirit so that we can be in constant connection with him (God)

We get really busy and burdened down with everyday worries of work, family, and school and when we encounter hurdles when we need an extra lift we forget that someone has got our back and or every single event we have gone through or will ever go through he made us a promise.

Every word he has spoken will never return to him without fulfilling its purpose.

But no, no we forget.

We struggle and fail and struggle and fail yet again and again.

Life has taught us not to ask for help because most times when we have asked for help from man we did not get it.

People who made promises to us have broken promises leaving us high and dry.

So we have condition ourselves not to ask for help even from God the one who made you 

and said; I will never leave or forsake you.

Never not sometimes, Never!

I am not a man that i should lie, neither the son of man that he should take back his word.

I will do what I said I will do, I will stand by my word.

We can even say God’s motto is “my Word is my Bond”

We can trust him that much.

We can hold him to his word,

Tell him; you said this and this and that so I am expectant.

But how many of us can let ourselves go and let him take over.

Instead what do we do?

We subconsciously put a limit on God’s grace and mercy upon our life.

We limit God to the “Big” stuff.

We forget that God is interested in every area of our life.

He is interested even in what we may term ‘insignificant’

Don’t say No God has no time for this or that.

I remember listening to a child pray.

He prayed for his parents, friends and EVEN HIS DOG that was going to the Vet later in the day.

How many of us still have the effrontery to pray like this?

We have lost that confidence in letting go and letting God.

We may find it funny but the truth remains that he wants you to involve him even in the littlest of things in your life.

Don’t restrict the flow of Gods grace and breakthrough in your life.

Sometimes we put a limit on God, when he has said that there are no limits or boundaries 

holding us back.

In this coming year we must learn to take off the limits we have put God in.

Have you restrained God to only a certain amount of success in your life?

Have you said let me do this while he does this?

Sometimes when I have not made a kind of dish in a while and I lose confidence in the kitchen, even after I have asked friends and everyone else how to make the dish.

When i am about to start, I say; God, It’s me and you making this meal and it always turns out great.

I always tell people I talk to, that as long as it has to do with you, he is interested.

He does not need anything from you other than your praise so he sure will keep doing things in your life that will make you praise him.

He is pleased when we prosper, when you get that dream house or job, when you have your child after so long, when you recover from that illness in your body.

He is glorified when we do well here on earth.

If this year did not turn out how you expected and you have cried and shed tears every night on your pillow.

The word of the lord to you is that since you have sown in many tears, you will reap in joy.

This New Year is your year of breakthrough because you are a child of God.

The time of God’s favour on your life has come

He said the righteous shall inherit the earth.

This is a word for you.

If you have shed more tears this 2010 than you have laughed he said in Isaiah 61:2-3 that he will comfort all who mourn.

He will give you beauty for ashes (Restoration for all you lost)

The Oil of joy for mourning.........

If you are sick in your body, he said to remind you that he wishes above all things that you be prosper and be in good health even as your soul prosper.

I am the lord that healeth thee.

By my stripes (on the cross) you are healed.

Your health status is important to him.

How can you praise him and fulfil your destiny when you are held down by sickness.

When you eat right and exercise right and still feel a weakness in your body all he needs you to do is to mind his business and he will mind yours.

What is his business?

Living life the way he wants you to and worshipping him every single day.

Worship the LORD your God and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you Exodus 23:25

When you have lost all you have;

Your loved ones, investments, relationships, money, he said I will restore to you what the enemy has stolen

When you think he has forgotten you;

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. In Isaiah 54:10  

When you have doubts about your future remember he said.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 

When you are stuck and you don’t know the next step to take;

Trust in the lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path

He will make a way where there seem to be no way.

When you feel you are limited by curses and generational hindrances and things are not working for you because of this curse.

I am not denying that these things exist but when you have already prayed for God’s deliverance. You must believe he has delivered you and stop living like someone under bondage.

Remember the story of Jabez, His mother named him Jabez because things were not going on well when she gave birth to him.

Things were so bad for him in his life but he remembered God and cried out in

1 Chronicles 4:9-10.

"Oh, that You would bless me indeed,

and enlarge my territory,
that Your hand would be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil,
that I may not cause pain!"

And God heard his prayer and prospered him.

Have you been waiting for your life partner and some part of you is telling you that you may die single;

I will give to everyone the bone of their bone and the flesh of their flesh, to everyone his mate.

We must act in faith,

Have you waited so long for a child?

Remember when God was speaking to Abraham and he said this time next year, your wife will have a child.

Then he said to him categorically; Is there anything too hard for God to do.

Not as a question but as a statement of fact.

Is there anything too hard for God to do.

Is it that job?

Is it that healing?

The promise he made to you years ago, about dreams and goals you had; its not too hard for you to accomplish.

You have to believe that it is possible.

You have to believe with every fibre of your being that it will happen in your lifetime.

Search his word and give it back to him.

Because there is nothing too hard for God to do

All you have to do is dare to believe

I don’t take my word back.

I don’t retract my statements.

I keep my covenant.

I keep my promises.

Says the Lord.

WHEN I FAST, I PRAY

As the year winds to an end, its easy to start beating yourself up for goals that have not yet come to reality.

You may feel disappointed and discouraged.

It is a trick of the devil to distract you from this very important time of the year.

This time is not only for evaluation of the present ending year but a time for sowing.

Its a time to sow seeds that you want to see fruits manifest in 2011.

Remember the story of the wheat and weed in Matthew 13 vs 24-30.

When the farmer (You and me) sowed good seed then the enemy came and planted thorns (bad friends, bad experiences) among them. Jesus said, let them grow together till the time of harvest then separate the wheat from the thorns and burn them.

If the enemy planted thorns in your life this year and they choked the life out of you making you less productive; this is the time to harvest.

Some things may not happen except through prayer and fasting.

You can dedicate a few days in this remaining time of the year to fast and pray for divine intervention.

Thank him for the passing year.

Ask him to remove thorns from your life; those friendships and relationships and sicknesses, accidents bad experiences and all form of losses that have pulled you back from achieving all you have hoped to achieve this year.

Pray for him to reveal the way he wants 2011 to go in your life so that you can walk according to his purpose.

 Remember he wishes above all things that you be in good health even as your soul prospers.

There is nothing as soothing and empowering as when God reveals his plan for your 2011 in 2010.

With this revelation then you can start to sow seeds into your new year.

Declare long life, God’s grace which passes all understanding, direction, zeal and everything you want into your new year.

One thing I can assure you of is that anything you leave in God’s hands is safe and sound and comes back to you with added value.

He always, always hears us.

This is also a time to give to those who are in need;it does not matter how small.

Read Isaiah Chapter 61 every day of this fast 

As you do this, I trust that God will lead you and see you through a 2011 of fulfilment.

THE EXPERIENCE 2010

Hello people.
I know i have been quiet for a while.
I had a busy end of week and had to rest after the great time praising God for at least 8 hours at THE EXPERIENCE LAGOS 2010
This is an annual all night praise program that happens in Lagos every first Friday in December.
This year's edition hosted Great gospel artists like Don Moen,Mary Mary, Chervelle Franklin,
Panam Percy Paul, Ron kenoly, Judy Jacobs, Israel Houghton,Papa San ( Yay) and many more.
It is always an indescribable experience. im having a hard time describing the event.
how do you describe an 11 hr praise,worship,prayer, and dance session?
see what i mean?
Its a time we thank God for the year(what better way than to praise him for his mercy and grace).
We also take time out to pray for the oncoming year.
Hundreds of thousands of people leave home hours early just to secure choice seats at the event.
Lagos becomes the place of the moment as Thousands travel from all over the country to be a part of this event.
This years edition was also broadcast live on one of Nigeria's Cable television.
I shot some unprofessional video clips with my phone but cant seem to upload it. found out there are clips on youtube so enjoy.
Really wish i could share the day with you.
Have you ever danced so much that you don't know when you start jumping cos you cant contain yourself anymore?
that was my experience.
I love praising God.

We can’t deny that sometimes we feel helpless, stuck, alone and hopeless.

Like the world, your family and friends have moved on leaving you behind.

You are unaware of the next step to take or the next move to make.

You lost your job and have not been able to find one for a long time.

You lost your loved one and you feel like life is empty and worthless without them.

You lost all your money when the economy crashed.

You are sick and the doctor has told you how much time he thinks you have left.

It is eating your soul up.

It’s killing you softly.

The dawn of a new day is like another day in hell.

There is this voice in your head that seem to be laughing at you and telling you that it’s over.

You just want to be alone, lock yourself up in a room and scream out;

           Is anyone there?

          Can anybody help?

I felt this way recently and buried in my thoughts.

 I remembered the woman in the bible that had bled for about 13yrs.

She spent all her time and resources seeking healers.

I am pretty sure she was fed up and tired of asking for help because of all the disappointment she had faced.

In all of this, she heard that Jesus was in the area.

The faith she had left was little and the hope for a better life was fading but she took the step and touched Jesus’ clothing and she was healed.

When life hurts you

Remember God is a healer

He is waiting for your call

Even Jesus got to a point on the cross when he could not take it anymore and cried out to God.

It’s actually easier, to give up and give in to vices and addictions like uncontrollable partying, sex and drugs. 

Trying to numb the pain you feel.

Their effect is short-lived and will only make matters worse.

God is the best healer for your heart.

            There is hope for me yet
